The Good and Bad Times of 2018
This week, two of my favorite podcast hosts, Lewis Howes and Jenna Kutcher, both recorded episodes about year-end reviews and stressed the importance of reflecting on your losses and celebrating your wins.
My first instinct was to say, well that’s a buncha baloney. Because it’s perfectly normal to look ahead this time of year, right? I was like, I don’t want to think about 2018! I’m goal-setting for 2019! What’s the point of doing a year-end review?
Then Lewis said something that made me change my mind: “If you don’t reflect on your year you miss out on the amazing opportunity to grow.“
So I was like, what the heck, let’s do it!
2018 was a huge year for me and I’d love to hear what you think about all of the ups and downs. Click on the player above to hear the good and the bad times of 2018, from silly stories to major introspective reflections about finances and anxiety.
Overall, 2018 was beautiful and ugly at the same time, but so was every year before it, and I’m sure every year to follow. Life is a rollercoaster and friends, you just gotta hold on and hang tight through the ups and downs!
If you haven’t done a year-end review yourself, I really encourage you to do it. All you have to do is simply write down the highs and lows in a notebook somewhere.
If 2018 totally sucked for you and you don’t want to relive it, I challenge you to do it and then burn that piece of paper. But don’t pretend it didn’t happen.
And if 2018 was a great year for you, write it all down and save it. Take the time to recall every single amazing thing that you had because we all know you may need the happy memories during the next dip of the rollercoaster ride.
Just reflect. Write. Feel. you’ll thank me later, I promise.
