3 Reasons Why I Switched from MailChimp to ConvertKit

mailchimp vs convertkit

On my to-do list, email marketing has never been top. In fact, it fell under a separate list called “to-do eventually.”

Here’s the thing: I know it’s the holy grail of business communication. I know it’s a necessary yet vastly underappreciated way to connect with customers.

>>But email marketing was always something that caused me MAJOR stress in my business... UNTIL I changed my platform!<<

Let me explain… Recently, I made the switch from MailChimp to ConvertKit and immediately, I was flooded with questions as to why I made this decision.

I quickly found out that I wasn’t the only one stressed out about reaching peoples’ inbox!

When I initially set up my email list, I started with MailChimp. Not giving much thought to which platform to use, I chose the option that I THOUGHT was a crowd favorite. No shade to those of you who use & love MailChimp, but switching to ConvertKit has changed the game in my business, and here’s why!

1. Multiple Opt-Ins

I have multiple opt-ins that I want to be able to feed into one list, so that was a major reason why I made the switch to ConvertKit. Honestly, in 2019, I find it unusual that MailChimp only allows one opt-in per list.

2. Tags & Segmenting Options

I really like the fact that ConvertKit has tags and segmenting options. This way, I can send my welcome series first, and then add the newsletter tag, so my lovely subscribers won’t receive my weekly newsletters until they’ve gone through my welcome series. Another major plus for ConvertKit!

3. User-Friendly & “Big Boy” Advantages

Once I did my research, I discovered that ConvertKit is similar to Infusionsoft, another top-tier email marketing platform. However, I found that ConvertKit was much less confusing than Infusionsoft, but it still has many of the same features. With ConvertKit, I could easily figure out how to send an email and how to segment my list, among other things. **Bonus: ConvertKit is also WAAAY cheaper, starting out at only $29 per month compared to nearly $200 per month for Infusionsoft!!**

Now that I’ve got the right platform for my business, I’m able to send quality content to my subscribers WITHOUT all of the stress I used to have.

*Heck YES, ConvertKit!*

A special shout-out goes to my friend, Kabrina (AKA @emailmarketingguru), for helping me to switch over to ConvertKit, determining the right path for my email marketing plan, and reviving my email list!
