What Is A Virtual Assistant + How Is VA For A Day Different?
“What do you do?”
“I’m a virtual assistant.”
This is question I’m asked every once in awhile, because not everyone is familiar with the online space. I am usually surprised by it, since my whole life revolves around this career path.
It’s kind of like when you find out that someone has never seen your favorite movie or heard your favorite album. Like, WHAT?!
Anyway, I figured that you might be wondering what a VA is too, and if you’re not then you might be curious how I define it.
Because the thing is, there’s loads of definitions when you search “virtual assistant” on the web, and most of them say the same thing:
A typically self-employed person who provides professional administrative, technical, or creative assistance to clients remotely from a home office.
Pretty broad, right?
That’s how I like it.
Honestly, I think that when people think of virtual assistants, they imagine them making appointments and answering phone calls. And although many VA’s do perform those duties, virtual assistant work looks a lot different here at VA for a day….
For me, being a virtual assistant looks like:
Evaluating my client’s business
Setting them up with organizational systems
Automating as much of their client experience that I can
Teaching them how to run it when I’m gone
You see, my assistance is one day because I know many business owners need help in their business, but unfortunately do not have the budget to hire a full or part time VA to help them out.
>>That’s where I come in!<<
I like helping small business owners like you get organized for a one-time fee, rather than a recurring commitment. This way, you can be less stressed and I can fulfill my mission of making productivity a priority for as many entrepreneurs as possible!
It’s a win-win, you know?
